Malacañang Suspends Classes and Gov't Work on October 31

(SPOT.ph) The Malacañang Palace has just suspended government offices and classes at all levels on Thursday, October 31 from 12 p.m. onwards.

Memorandum Circular No. 67, s. 2024 was issued to "provide government employees full opportunity to properly observe traditional AIl Saints' Day and All Souls' Day activities, allow them to travel to and from different regions in the country, and promote domestic tourism."

Long weekend for the lucky ones

Since November 1 and November 2 are special non-working holidays that fall on a Friday and Saturday, students and government employees can look forward to a long weekend next week.

Do take note that there are exemptions.

According to the memorandum, "those agencies whose functions involve the delivery of basic and health services, preparedness/response to disasters and calamities, and/or the performance of other vital services shall continue their operations and render the necessary services."

Meanwhile, it is up to private companies whether to suspend work or not. We're manifesting as we speak.
