SMC Asia Car Distributors Corp. recently unveiled the BMW iX1 eDrive20 xLine to the Philippine market.

"The BMW iX1 eDrive20 xLine redefines the premium compact sports activity vehicle with a bolder look, a more spacious interior, and advanced technology, it offers an elevated driving experience," the company said.

The company said it expects its latest Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) to "give a major boost to the accelerated ramp-up of electric mobility."

"The first-ever BMW iX1's bold design unmistakably signals its status as a Sports Activity Vehicle. Muscular proportions, squared-off wheel arches, and signature BMW X styling elements create a commanding presence on the road," added the company.

Inside the latest BMW offering is a raised seating position and a "premium feel." It has a slim instrument panel, a BMW Widescreen Display, a floating armrest with a control panel, and a wireless smartphone charging tray in the front center console.

BMW said that the iX1 offers a "compelling entry point into the world of electric mobility."

"Powered by a robust electric motor generating 204 hp and 247 Nm of torque, this Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) delivers a spirited yet efficient driving experience. Paired with a single-speed automatic transmission, the iX1 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 8.6 seconds and reaches a top speed of 170 km/h," BMW said.

The iX1 has a 64.8 kWh battery capacity that has an electric range of 430 to 473 km with an efficient energy consumption of 17.2-16.7 kWh/100 km.

It also features a Cruise Control with brake function and the front-collision warning system, which is now also capable of detecting oncoming traffic when turning left and a Parking Assistant including Reversing Assist Camera.

"The first-ever BMW iX1 also treats its occupants to the latest-generation BMW iDrive multi-sensory vehicle experience in the form of the standard-fit BMW Live Cockpit Plus. Based on BMW Operating System 9, it comprises the BMW Widescreen Display with its state-of-the-art graphics and menu structure along with the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant that has now gained additional skills," BMW further said.

The BMW iX1 eDrive20 xLine retails at Php 3,990,000, which includes a 5- year BMW factory warranty, and a BMW Wallbox Charger which will be installed in the customer’s home free of charge. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
