In the Philippines' First Banyan Tree Luxury Residence, Units Start at P92 Million

Banyan Tree is a familiar brand for people immersed in all things luxury. Part of the Singapore-based Banyan Group, the hospitality brand is a network of resorts, spas, hotels, and residences across multiple locations worldwide aimed toward affluent or high net worth individuals.

The first Banyan Tree property in the Philippines will be located in Entertainment City Parañaque City

Starting with one property in Phuket, Thailand in 1994, the Banyan Group currently has 8,695 rooms across 63 resorts and hotels as well as 14 branded residences in 20 countries worldwide as of 2024.

On Tuesday (June 28), the Banyan Group announced the arrival of the first Banyan Tree property in the Philippines. Banyan Tree Manila Bay is a luxury hotel and residential property project being developed by Trans Asia Construction Development Corp. under license from Banyan Tree Holdings Limited.

According to a news release sent to media after the glitzy launch event held at The Cove at Okada Manila, the project will be built in phases. Phase 1 of the property is composed of a hotel, residences, and a retail area.

The residential component of the project, Banyan Tree Residences Manila Bay, is offering spacious ultra-luxury units ranging from the 900-square-meter penthouses, bi-level units at 700 square meters, prime units at 400 square meters, and two and three-bedroom units measuring 140 to 260 square meters. An initial computation emailed to potential clients said that the smallest unit—a two-bedroom unit measuring anywhere from 143.76 square meters to 239.64 square meters costs between P92 million to P141 million.

The most expensive unit, which is the penthouse, measures 915.59 square meters and features a balcony area of 74.41 square meters. The list price range: P820 to P823 million.

According to the sales brochure, units at the Banyan Tree Manila Bay residences come with "breathtaking views of the Manila Bay Sunset," "premium finishes of wood and stone, custom fixtures, and luxury brand appliances," "access to the highly acclaimed Banyan Tree Spa," and membership to the exclusive Sanctuary club membership "providing privileges and discounts through the Banyan Tree global network."

"It is definitely a very exciting time for the luxury real estate market right now in the Philippines," said Martin Taylor, COO of Banyan Tree Manila Bay. "Investors are always looking for the next big thing. Hence, there’s high expectation for Banyan Tree Manila Bay and this is something that we aim to satisfy.

"Banyan Tree Manila Bay is a mixed use, multiple tower development," he added. "It will reflect all the features that every Banyan Tree property is known for like sustainability practices, while ensuring that we also pay homage to Philippine culture."

The Philippine capital of Manila was recently named the world’s top luxury real estate market, edging out Dubai, based on a report from global property consultant Knight Frank.
