FedEx to double size of Clark logistics hub
American multinational conglomerate Federal Express Corp. (FedEx) will be doubling the area of its logistics facility inside Clark International Airport in Pampanga, the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) said on Thursday.
In a statement, the BCDA said FedEx had signed an agreement with the operator and manager of the airport, Luzon International Premiere Airport Development (Lipad).
“This landmark agreement embodies our unwavering commitment to fostering sustainable development and economic vitality in the region, ensuring a brighter future for us, and for the whole community,” Lipad president and chief executive officer Noel Manankil said, as quoted in the BCDA statement.

“We proudly celebrate this collaboration with FedEx Philippines for their Clark Gateway expansion within the Lipad project land,” he added.
Growing demand
The BCDA said the new facility would offer enhanced capabilities to local businesses looking to bolster their presence in international markets and support the growing demand for e-commerce, freight, and cold-chain shipments across the Asia-Pacific region.
Once completed, the BCDA said, the facility would have doubled its current area of 17,000 square meters.
For FedEx Philippines managing director Maribeth Espinosa, “This expansion is a testament to our strong commitment in facilitating cross-border trade and optimizing the country’s supply chain capabilities.”
FedEx opened its Clark hub in October 2021, a state-of-the-art facility capable of sorting up to 9,000 parcels per hour and with a freight-handling area of 630 sq m.
