FIRST LOOK: Anko opens its first-ever PH store
If you've been to Kmart in Australia, chances are you've picked up a budget-friendly yet charming home decor piece from Anko. But now, no need to pasabuy.
Anko, an Australian-based home and lifestyle brand, has opened its first store in the Philippines on Thursday, Nov. 7, bringing high-quality, affordable products to the Southeast Asian market.
Its arrival in the country promises to reshape the local retail landscape, offering a diverse range of home essentials, kitchenware, furniture, and lifestyle products at prices that cater to every budget.
"Our formula for Anko's success has always been straightforward - deliver consistent product quality, offer exceptional value compared to competitors, and focus on everyday household essentials that truly make a difference," Kmart Group Managing Director Ian Bailey said in a statement.
He continued, "As we introduce Anko to the Philippines, we're dedicated to bringing Filipino families the same reliable quality and affordability that have made Anko a much-loved brand in the ANZ region."
Located in Glorietta 2 in Makati City, the first Anko store in the country features a spacious layout that showcases a wide array of products, including kitchen essentials, storage units, home textiles, and decorative pieces. The store layout is designed to encourage exploration, allowing customers to see and feel the products in a real-world setting, which enhances the overall shopping experience.
According to Anko Philippines Country Manager Rachel Turner, the country is "a natural choice" to be the next home of the Australian lifestyle brand.
"It's a vibrant market where people truly resonate with our products, and the culture here, like back home, places a strong emphasis on family."
"With over a hundred million people in the Philippines compared to our home market of 30 million, where we sell over a billion units annually, we see immense potential. It's an exciting opportunity to bring Anko's value and quality to even more homes," Turner added.
What's inside?
Anko's extensive range of items—from essential everyday tools to more decorative and seasonal products—caters to a broad spectrum of tastes, making it a one-stop shop for home and lifestyle needs without breaking the bank.
Here, you can find home essentials and kitchenware, including non-stick pans, frying pans, plates, bowls, glasses, food organizers, and utensil holders. The prices range from P80 to P970.
Anko's furniture section offers stylish, minimalist designs that fit modern Filipino living spaces. Some of the things you can find are priced at less than P1,000, including decorative items such as vase, candles, photo frames, cushions, blankets, and wall art and other textiles such as bedding sets, duvet covers, pillowcases, and rugs that add color and comfort to the home.
The store offers a range of products for its bedroom accessories to help customers create cozy and functional spaces. These include a cotton sheet set (P2160), a cotton-rich standard pillowcase set (P180), and a standard pillowcase set (P660), among others.
And, just in time for the holidays, you can find various seasonal products that can be used to decorate your home, where you can score stunning decor for as low as P80.
Anko likewise carries a wide selection of stationery items for those looking to organize their home office or personal space. Accessories and essentials for furniture babies are also available at this store.
Meanwhile, whether you're looking for playtime essentials, creative toys, or interactive games, Anko has something for the little ones. These include action figures and playsets (P440-1200), plush toys and stuffed animals (P350-700), and other outdoor and active toys (P20-P90).
For beauty enthusiasts, the Aussie lifestyle brand also includes a selection of personal care and wellness products, such as bath and body products (P180-P440), skincare products (P200-P350), and haircare products, among others.
Anko is Australia’s leading home and lifestyle brand established in 2017. It is part of the Kmart Group, which includes Kmart Australia, Target Australia and Anko Global, and is owned by Wesfarmers Ltd, one of the leading ASX-listed companies in Australia.
Now in the Philippines, Anko aims to make everyday living brighter for Filipino families by offering on-trend products designs at irreversibly low prices across home and lifestyle categories.
