Policarpio to join PBA Draft
(UPDATE) DE La Salle University forward Jonnel Policarpio announced on Wednesday that he is joining the 2024 PBA Rookie Draft.
In a social media post, Policarpio called it one of the toughest decisions he has made.
"Extending all my gratitude to my managers, teammates, and to everyone na naniniwala sa capabilities ko and talent as an athlete. Of course, I also owe everything that I have achieved to the Lasallian Community — you will always be one for the books," he wrote.
He thanked all his managers and coaches, including Green Archers coach Topex Robinson for all the lessons he learned.
"I don't know what the future holds for me but I am excited to see what's in store for me as an athlete. Always will be, Animo La Salle!" Policarpio said.
Policarpio was a key fixture in the championship run of La Salle in UAAP Season 85, along with Evan Nelle and Kevin Quiambao.
The PBA Rookie Draft will take place on July 14.P
Fellow Green Archers Francis Escandor, Benjamin Philips, and Nelle have also declared their intentions of joining the PBA Draft along with Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League players Justine Baltazar and CJ Cansino.
