Trading in my 2019 Tesla for the 2021 Tesla Model 3!
All right, at the time of filming I have just finished purchasing a brand new 2021 Tesla Model 3 Long Range and in this video we're going to be documenting the Tesla trading process and how that works because I've never traded in a car before so I don't really know what I'm doing. Let's find out. So here we go. We've got delivery location set. Next we've got is trade in. So oh there it is. It's already there. Your saved trading quote trading credit is £37,000 two hundred. That's why we're doing this. I would not be purchasing this car if we didn't have another one to trade in at such a high value, right? This is valid until November the 4th. It is the second when I'm filming this so we don't have too long. OK, that is the car though. Midnight silver. Say goodbye to that beautiful paid job. Next, your quote needs to be updated. So we need to say exactly how many miles I've got right now so I don't need to go the car. I've got the Tesla app right here and right now the car has done 5353 miles. Did you reclaim Vt on your vehicle? Sadly not. Sadly not. OK, let's click next. Here we go. Right now it says are you still making payments on your car? So we are not because we were fortunate enough to purchase it in full. So I assume that makes this next part nice and simple. So let's click next again. Oh God, here we go. Please provide photos of your vehicle and documents taken within the last 24 hours. They need a front shot. They need a driver's side shot. They need a rear shot, which includes any visible badges, and they need passenger sides, interior front seats. The odometer reading, which I've been avoiding saying because I'm not quite sure how you pronounce it. Odor meter, odometer, I don't know. Thanks a lot, Tesla. And your vehicle is running and mileage is visible. OK, we can do that as well. All right, that's the mall. It is 6:00 PM in November, so it's pitch black outside. So I guess I'll go take those photos tomorrow. Oh my God, it's cold. OK, let's get our pictures and let's get out of here. So very first one is just up ahead like this. And there it is. There's our beautiful car. Now we need to go ahead and get the one from the side because we're doing all angles. Car looks a bit mucky, but I'm assuming that has a they'll know that it's clean all right they're not going to like take £200 off because it's got a bit of mud on. So let's get that next picture looks good. Hey Becky, let's do the back there we go now we need to do this side, but hey, I can't get there because there's a big fence let's summon the car guys. That's a feature that we can do. I'm going to smart summon it and I'm going to see what happens. Go to target. Come on. Don't let me down. Your car right? It's turned its wheels the wrong way. Why is it going that way? You better be coming this way. Oh, there we go. There we go. I need you kind of way more over car. Nice Says it's waiting for pedestrian. I'll move back to it. Waiting for phone to come back in range. What do you want from me Car? I think you're over this way. This way, Yes. I'll do it myself. So this is the last exterior shot. And then it's just those two from the inside. Perfect. OK, let's go inside. So this one, is it just like that? Do you reckon They're funny, these pictures? Because I suppose they're just proving that there's nothing. Maybe I'll move the dice. Oh, Becky, there's quite the knot. They're on the steer. These these are going back to Tesla. Vicky. Yeah, yeah. So I suppose we've just proven there's nothing gigantically wrong with the car because these pictures, they're not going to pick up scratches and those kind of imperfections. They're just going to pick up there's a seat missing or that kind of thing. And then the last picture is just showing how many miles are on the car. So all I need to do is click the Tesla logo and you can see we've done 5363 miles and our VINS on there as well. So literally just that maybe I'll get a wide one as well. They are. I think that's everything TES they need. So I'm going to get them uploaded and if there's any extra steps, I'll let you know what they are. All right, there we go. All of the pictures are uploaded. I think they're decent enough quality. It doesn't seem like they're looking too deeply into things right now, but everything they asked for is there. So now all we've got is by submitting, you certify that this trade in vehicle is free of major cosmetic and mechanical issues. Yeah, that's true. That's all fine. There's a few tiny little scratches on the leather seats, but that's definitely not major cosmetics. So let's just submit. All right, we go preparing offer, we will review your trading information and contact you within 24 hours when your trading offer is ready to review and be accepted. Nice. So they said they'd give 37,200. I am hoping that it's somewhere close to that number. Hi, it's me again. It was 6:00 PM when I last saw you and it's now 1:00 PM the next day. And as you can see, offer available. I didn't get an e-mail or anything about this, but my trading credit is 37,200, which is exactly what they estimated, which is good actually, because I did kind of expect that they might try and take a few £100 on off once I've been sucked into trading the car in. But it's good to see the trade in estimate has not changed. That's nice. I think it's also worth pointing out that Tesla don't just accept Tesla's as trade insurance. You can also trade in whatever vehicle you've got, but obviously the amount that they're willing to give you will fluctuate. And also, some people might say that I could have got more money for my first car if I was to sell privately, for example. But I can't really sell a car privately because I have to be careful about my address and my privacy. So I'd much rather just sell it to a corporation and not take any risks there. Apparently now all I need to do is add my ownership document, which I think I've got. There we go, it's on. And now we just need to accept offer. It's scary. It's kind of final after this, maybe not super final. I think I could probably still back out should we accept. I've clicked it. I've clicked it okay, there we go trading is now done. So next is payment methods. So if we take a look at that, oh that looks good. Let's take a look at the details of that. So the Model 3 itself was 38,000. The full self driving capability, stupidly expensive, but I get it an extra 10,000 for the long range. So that's kind of what we're paying for minus off 3000 for the plug in grant gets you to a total of 55,000. But then when you take off our £100 deposit and then the 37,000 from the original car, we only owe 17,940, which is a lot. Oh man, I wish that full self driving capability was transferable because it's that that really kind of tips it over into the next bracket. You know what I mean? But this Tesla channel is very profitable right now. So I think it makes sense to just invest the money back in again. And then I'll be left with a fancy new car, which is perfect, which I can make a load more videos about, gain more ad revenue, and I'll be able to travel so much further on a single charge as well, which is kind of the main drawback of my standard range Model 3. So let's continue, I guess. Do we pay that in full now? Apparently it's just ticked it. I've not paid anything. Am I getting it for free? I assume so let's head over to registration. OK, Now they just want all this boring stuff. So I'll get on with that. If there's another update, I'll let you know what it is. All right, so after submitting those pictures, I've left it about a week just because I wanted to see if anything else would change. So when I log into the website now, I can see my beautiful car sat there right ago. And the next step is we are drafting up your contract and will contact you when you can make your final payment. And it lets me know who needs to be present at delivery, which is me obviously, and the vehicle that I'm trading. Then it says, what do I need to bring with me for delivery? And the first one is your driving license. Now, when we went to pick up the first car, I don't think they even looked at my driving license. They just took my name, said your car's outside, let us know if there's anything wrong with it. And then that was it. It was a bit too relaxed to be honest. Proof of wire transfer for your final payment. They didn't ask for that the first time either. And then if you are part exchanging a vehicle, which we are, we need to bring the V5C and both keys. So I definitely need to remember both Tesla cards because I could very much imagine myself just bringing the one. Anyway, the night that that was submitted, I got a text message from Tesla which said Tesla update, your Tesla account is now complete and we will contact you when your Model 3 is available to be scheduled for delivery. And then four days later I got this text message, which is even more exciting. Great news. A car has now been allocated to your order. Your vehicle arrival date is being calculated. We will be in contact very soon to make delivery arrangements. I've not paid for the car at all yet other than the £100 deposit, but apparently this car is out there somewhere ready to be given to me. So that's exciting. That means that it exists in the world produced. I'm a little bit nervous because Tesla have had some issues with build quality. When all of the first model wise came out, there was quite a few things that weren't quite right and things didn't line up or things were a bit wobbly than they should have been. Because this will be one of the 1st 2021 model threes. I'm hoping that I won't have the same issues, but I guess just make sure you subscribe to the channel and I will document everything. The fact that the cars out there means that hopefully we will actually still get it December when it was originally scheduled, but I guess we will just have to see what happens. So thank you very much for watching. Hopefully found this trading video interesting because I know there's not many videos about this. Please do like the video, subscribe and I will see you later.
China - November 27, 2024 Farming tradition meets innovation in China's vegetable heartland (Voice_over) From purple sprouting broccoli to tomatoes on the vine. This annual vegetable fair is a one-stop shop for China's agricultural traditions and innovations. (Sound_bite) Zhang Fuguang, Worker, Yurun Mengyang Vegetable Market: "Traditional broccoli is round and compact. This is a newly developed variety. It can be eaten raw because it's green and natural." (Voice_over) Location - Pengzhou, a small city on the Chengdu Plain - a historic agricultural hub, and now, one of China's major vegetable bases. The city has a cultivation area of more than 500 square kilometers, yielding an annual output of more than two million tons. (Sound_bite) Tao Yuan, Reporter: "Vegetables here don't just stay in the farmland. The city has partnered with leading agricultural research institutions to develop new varieties in the lab." (Voice_over) This laboratory is designed to support the high-quality development of the Pengzhou vegetable industry. Researchers here are working to tackle key challenges, such as food safety and the effect of climate change. (Sound_bite) Song Zhanfeng, Director, Vegetable Research Center, Horticulture Institute of Sichuan Academy of Agricultural Sciences: "In recent years, what we've observed most frequently is the irregularity of high temperatures, low temperatures, and rainfall. This lack of pattern in the climate makes it difficult for scientists to conduct research and for local farmers to grow crops. Without a predictable pattern, it's hard to manage things properly. Such environmental changes affect plant growth significantly." (Voice_over) This study is focuses on stress resistance, developing crops that can thrive under extreme weather conditions, such as high and low temperatures, excessive rainfall, or water scarcity. The goal is to identify and enhance the genetic traits that make these crops more resilient. (Sound_bite) Song Zhanfeng, Director, Vegetable Research Center, Horticulture Institute of Sichuan Academy of Agricultural Sciences: "We artificially create a high-temperature or low-temperature environment for it to grow in. Then we observe how it performs in those conditions. After that, we conduct genetic modification and run tests to see whether it expresses the desired traits. Once successful, we apply this technology to our vegetable varieties." (Voice_over) A testament to how science and innovation can shape the future of one of humanity's oldest industries.
