NewsRussia claims drones have destroyed Ukrainian watercraft and infantry
Russia has claimed that it has destroyed Ukrainian watercraft and infantry using attack drones and artillery. The footage shows a Russian soldier assembling a drone and preparing to launch it. It then takes to the skies and the footage cuts to explosions, apparently on the coast, by a river and elsewhere on the battlefield. The video then cuts to the drone apparently returning to its operator. The images were obtained from the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) on Friday, May 10, along with a statement claiming: 'Crews of the Zala unmanned aerial vehicles of the Airborne Forces directed and coordinated the defeat of infantry and watercraft of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the right bank of the Dnieper.' 'Crews of the UAV 'Zala' of theGuards Airborne Forces unit from the Dnepr group of troops are successfully conducting combat work to search and detect targets of the Ukrainian Armed Forces for destruction by the group's artillery and attack drones on the right bank of the Dnieper in the Kherson region. 'The paratroopers launched the UAV. The drone gained a height of several hundred meters and flew deep into the territory controlled by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the right bank of the river. A powerful engine and a modern control system allow the drone to operate even in bad weather. 'A high-resolution camera helps detect camouflaged enemy positions and weapons, as well as concentrations of enemy infantry and watercraft. 'The paratroopers discovered Ukrainian Armed Forces watercraft making another unsuccessful attempt to cross the river, as well as Ukrainian Armed Forces infantry hiding in the ruins of houses on the opposite bank. Information about the concentration of Ukrainian militants and motorboats is transmitted to the artillerymen. 'They are quickly targeted by long-range cannon artillery. On this section of the front, another attempt by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to cross the Dnieper was thwarted. 'Modern military clashes are no longer possible without drones. They help conduct reconnaissance without threatening the operators. With their help, artillery fire is adjusted. 'Defence Ministry specialists are constantly improving equipment so that it is not exposed to enemy electronic warfare forces.' Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, in what the Kremlin is still calling a 'special military operation'. The conflict is still ongoing with public support from Europe and the United States fading and businesses reopening their ties with Russia. Deserters have fled both countries for safer climbs in Europe and Asia.

NewsMcDonald's Launches $5 Meal Deal Amid Pricing Backlash
As customers express dismay over soaring fast-food prices, with McDonald's menu items like the Big Mac reaching unprecedented costs of $18, the iconic chain is taking action to win back its budget-conscious patrons. In a strategic response to the growing competition from casual dining venues like Chili's and Applebee's, McDonald's is set to introduce a $5 meal deal, potentially featuring favorites such as the McChicken or McDouble, alongside fries and a drink. This initiative aligns with CEO Chris Kamchinsky's recognition of the need for affordability, especially in the face of minimum wage hikes that have spurred franchises to raise prices. Despite some franchises denying reports of extreme price spikes, the issue has impacted McDonald's stock, which has seen a nearly 5% drop, lagging behind market performance. As families reassess their dining choices in these inflationary times, McDonald's aims to retain its customer base with this cost-effective option, while consumers like those opting for custom orders at places like Sweetgreen find alternate ways to save. This move signals a shift in the fast-food industry towards reestablishing value in an era where every dollar counts for consumers.
