A OnePoll study of over 2,000 US adults found that 7 in 10 are living paycheck to paycheck. 63% can’t see themselves reaching a level of financial security that would allow them to live the lifestyle they want. Most people turn to social media, their family or financial news websites to educate themselves about finance. 79% of those who earn over $150,000 believe a savings account is very important. This is compared to only 54% of those earning between $60,000 and $89,999. Most US adults believe they need around $686 of disposable income a month to feel financially secure. 82% of respondents believe financial security is important for their mental health. The study discovered that most adults will start thinking about their retirement plan at the age of 40.
