NRL star Jesse Ramien has issued his heartfelt thanks to those who have supported his family following the premature birth of his son Teo in Bali.

The Cronulla Sharks centre has arrived back in Australia alongside his fiancee Shell and newborn son, after a traumatic two weeks on the Indonesian island.

He and his fiancee had been in Bali for the wedding of team-mate Briton Nikora when Teo was born prematurely.

Their baby boy had to be resuscitated for five minutes after he was born six weeks early.

Ramien had contacted the Australian Embassy to source a care flight home for their medically-induced son, which had been expected to cost around $130,000.

A GoFundMe page was created by Shavaun Hunt, the partner of his Sharks team-mate Royce Hunt.

Multiple stars from around the NRL, including those from rival clubs donated to the page which has raised $59,484.

Players including AJ Brimson, Keaon Koloamatangi, Sitili Tupouniua, Jacob Saifiti, Taane Milne and Hame Sele all donated.

On Sunday, Ramien took to Instagram to send a message of thanks to those who have supported his family throughout the last two weeks, confirming that Teo had landed safely back in Australia.

'We're back home in Australia now and we just want to say thank you to all our friends, family and everyone who reached out, sent a message, liked, shared, donated and done anything to help out in any way,' Ramien said on Instagram.

'We couldn't have done it without everyone and we couldn't have got home without everyone's support.

'A massive thank you to all my teammates that were in Bali, who helped us out in that tough time.

'We're forever grateful and we definitely felt the love for sure.'

According to The Daily Telegraph, Shell had been 33 weeks pregnant before travelling to Bali for the wedding and had been cleared to fly by her obstetrician. The airline and her travel insurance company had also approved the trip.

Shell had gone into labour and required an emergency C-section.

'It’s been really hard to get some answers because as every parent knows, you just want the best care for your baby, it’s certainly been scary for Shell,' Ramien had previously said.

'The unfamiliarity of the medical system here and that ability to communicate our concerns in Bali only adds to the stress and emotion around this.'
