Kangaroo still on the loose in Oshawa, Ontario
A kangaroo that was seen hopping around the streets of Oshawa, Ontario, on Monday morning has not been captured yet.
The marsupial was first spotted by a resident who called the police around 8 a.m. The police arrived at the scene and tried to capture the animal, but it escaped into a nearby park.
According to the police, the kangaroo is likely an escaped pet that belongs to someone in the area. They are asking anyone who knows the owner or has any information about the kangaroo to contact them.
Kangaroos are not native to Canada and are illegal to keep as pets in Ontario. They can grow up to two metres tall and weigh up to 90 kilograms. They can also jump up to nine metres in one leap and run up to 70 kilometres per hour.
The police are warning the public not to approach the kangaroo if they see it, as it may be scared and unpredictable. They are also advising drivers to be careful on the roads, as the kangaroo may cross them unexpectedly.
The police have been searching for the kangaroo for three days, but have not been able to locate it. They are hoping that it will return to its owner or find a safe place to hide.
